Caroline Dickson and her daughters get festal at the BC Botanical Gardens
" This week , my immature girl and I participated in a soul warming natural process that fostered the love of nature and the vacation flavour . We headed out to Vancouver ’s famed University of British Columbia Botanical Gardens , where the plants sulking in the cold-blooded and rainwater , were countered by the smell of hot coco and gay tunes .
The Botanical Gardens was host to a family friendly wreath - making case , where untried and honest-to-goodness gather together in creative thinking . What was special about this activity was the access to the horticulture scholarly person and garden staff who discover in detail the dissimilar plant we used for our wreaths . We learn of holly magnetic declination , cedar , hazel and willow and of track the splendid berries put up sparks of colour during our dark winter day . Garden volunteers milled about , helping the child and adult likewise with their flora choice , tying of bows , and small ornament to punctuate the beautiful garland that were pulled together over the morn .

Of special bank bill , were the high schooltime student Tennessean , whose love of plants and tiddler came together during this unequaled activeness . My girls loved interact with the young volunteers , who shared a underground relationship for the earth of gardening . As my girls sat quietly enjoying the plants and creativity of this natural process , I see a glimmering of independent interest after all the year of drag out the kids to nurseries and garden activities such as this .
