As in politics , so in multiplication . At this prison term of yr plants are begging to be dissever . Luckily , I have a garden to re - populate concord to the new ( incomplete , but it ’s coming … ) border design , and I also have a plant sales event to which I take to contribute as much as possible . The cut-rate sale is in a few weeks so I want to get my skates on .
Yesterday I divided a small clump of Geum “ Mrs J Bradshaw ” . This plant is a “ do - er ” . The leaf is inoffensive and it flowers pretty much continuously from mid - May through to the fall , although you do need to deadhead to prolong the flowering season . It also come in reliable from semen .
The clustering was 5 plants in the beginning , and I think this is only their 2nd year in the earth , perchance 3rd . I think I originally bought just 3 plants , probably 10 years ago , and I now have some in every border . This might be annoying if it was n’t such a useful works . The foliage is a nice shape , and I particularly wish the way of life it look after rainwater , the weewee sit down like jewel on the surface of the foliage . The flowers are a useful shade of yellowness and provide a beneficial counterpoint to empurple , among others .
From my one , nigga - sized lump I got 14 plants . They require to acquire on a bit , but they will be a good sizing for the industrial plant sales event in a month or so .
