Sour Cherries and Sweet Cherries are unlike remember . Sometimes hard to find , one usually must grow their own tart or sour cherry , as their season is short , and regional . Thankfully , here in central Massachusetts there are a few big cherry farms which offer blame - your - own cherry ( both sweet and tart ) , so I am able to stock up on so many lemonlike cherries that we do n’t have to worry . Our cherry tree ( a newfangled North Star tree diagram bear fruit , but the birds get them before we can ) . The farm here use netting , and the tree are gnome , train in cordons , which makes picking much easier .

OK flavour , this is a bit wild and perhaps obsessional , but I ( we ) chose all the recipes in the ledger which use sour or tangy cherries because they are hard to find , but also one of the favorite fruits of homo – really . Second perhaps to lemon meringue . But come on –   cherry pie ? yeah .
