Kleinia cephalophora , formerly known asSenecio cephalophorus , is a dramatic succulent shrub with juicy - greenish leaves and beautiful expectant nodding flower heads . It can uprise up to 16 inches ( 40 cm ) grandiloquent . The leaves are fleshy , dreary - unripened , lance - shaped with strongly recurve margins and value up to 4 inch ( 10 cm ) long and 0.6 inches ( 1.5 atomic number 96 ) astray .
In winter , this plant produces solitary bloom heads with hopeful yellow florets that sometimes become orange . The flower heads can contact up to 1.2 inches ( 3 centimetre ) in diam .
