Today ’s photos are from Leslie Ornelas in Colorado Springs , Colorado . She tell , ” The sure-enough adage in my arena is that if you’re able to garden in Colorado , you’re able to garden anywhere ! ! Between breaking wind , drought , belated / early freeze , HAIL , etc . , gardening is an exercise in longanimity and acceptance .
In a tiny suburban lot , and with special funds , the garden has lento develop over the retiring eleven years . The front garden , sadly , no longer look like the photograph as the deer have name their pet “ salad Browning automatic rifle ” ( notice the daylilies which have not made it to blossom since ! ) . I have recently go all the deer - delectables to the back ( fenced ) K and re - implant “ deer resistant ” plants up front .
The bantam back railyard is share by three dogs , a minuscule patch of sens , and the garden , which rim the perimeter . A sinister iron ornamental fence keeps the dogs out . The nuance garden picture are in mid - spring ( late May here ) ; hostas , bleeding heart , sweet woodruff where the gargoyle obscure , lamium , and my favourite gentle re - cloud seeder , Corsican violet .

The jet area in the back showsAgastache rupestris(hummingbird mint ) , genus Rudbeckia , and the last shadow of ‘ May Night ” salvia ; in the background is a bristlecone pine tree . The former bound fountain shot showsAllium‘Purple Sensation ’ in flush and the dog fence .
The pots on the deck rail , which are display and tend to dry out out speedily , containStipa tenuissima(angle hair skunk ) , moss rise , and succulent . Alchemilla mollis(lady ’s mantle ) and ‘ Palace Purple ’ heuchera are in the background with the grim Chow Chow , Zia . ”Beautiful ! Thanks , Leslie , for share your garden with us !
Keep those photos coming , folks ! While I ca n’t post everything that comes in ( please do n’t be injure if I do n’t boast your photo – they’re all beautiful ! ) , I ’ll do my honest to feature as many of your garden as I can . Thanks ! — Michelle
