The “ 2013 To Do listing ” Is up on the electric refrigerator !
It ’s operose to believe – but tomorrow will strike out the final day of 2012 . With the self-aggrandising Lucille Ball in Times Square about to drop – it ’s also fourth dimension for Mary and I to put up the 2013 farm “ To Do ” leaning on the icebox . ( you’re able to view list at the bottom of the billet )
We follow the same cognitive operation each year . We create our own tilt of goals for what we feel is important for grow the farm . Once complete – we attach a number to the importance of each end . This year , we decided to pick 24 goal – 2 to accomplish each month . Then , we sit down and interpret them loud to each other . It ’s always amazing to see how similar our goals are – and how close we were to ranking the importance of them . We always write down a few goals the other did n’t – and so we work together to come up with the good 24 – and a plan to accomplish them .

The “2013 To Do List” Is up on the fridge!
Then fare the most crucial part of all – we put the finished list up on the icebox . You see , for us – looking at those goals each and every mean solar day , in fact several time a mean solar day , serve as motivation and breathing in to reach the ultimate goal of a completely ego - sufficient farm .
“ fly The Coop”2013 will impart a new and big coop to the girls and the farm .
Some might question the need to develop a listing – but we think it ’s a great style to be honest with yourself about what really postulate to be completed , and what can wait for another day . It is awing how seeing your goal in bold print keeps your eyes and efforts focalise on what require to be done . It ’s even been great for the kids to see . Yes , like any other teenagers would do , they poke a niggling fun at us when it function up on the fridge . But as the yr progresses , they see our end getting crossed off – and more significantly , the effect of the planning and piece of work that last into them .

“Flying The Coop”2013 will bring a new and bigger coop to the girls and the farm.
Of the 24 goals this year – the big I are the building of the new chicken coop , the reuse nursery and the sensory garden – but I am really anxious to get our very own honeybee hive as well as our first heap of wine initiate !
Whatever your goal for 2013 – Mary and I both wish everyone a favorable and healthy New Year – and we thank each and every one of you who follow along with us on the blog as we continue working on the dream that is Old World Garden Farms .
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
– Jim and Mary
