With almost everyone looking for projects to do around the home right now , we resolve to take our love of DIY 2×4 outdoor article of furniture to a new degree last week .
How so ? Well , we went to work to see if we could create an entire porch and patio setting from only 2×4 ’s . One that could equip our entire out-of-door pavilion area for twelvemonth to occur .
And as you will see in the video below , did we ever have a lot of fun with it ! But even more than that , we are absolutely shocked at how we create so much furniture for so little .
In fact , to build the entire ensemble , it deal less than $ 300 in material . That alone is less than the price of a single terrace tabular array in a store . And one that certainly wo n’t last as long !
The DIY 2×4 Outdoor Furniture Project
It took a sum of ( 68 ) two - by - fours to make our total porch and patio set of outdoor piece of furniture . At $ 4.10 each for buying the nicer “ select ” 2x4x8 ’s , the grand total for wood number $ 278.80 .
But for that , as you could see in the video tour below , we were able to build up a great deal ! include a 60″ patio table with ( 4 ) electric chair , ( 2 ) Adirondack chairman , ( 2 ) dual - box planters , a 48″ wide Adirondack bench , and a 36″ java table .
All in all , it need us about 2 full years to dispatch all of piece . We spent one more Clarence Shepard Day Jr. painting and staining as well . But with having plenty of clock time on our farm now for task , it was sure enough time well spend .
We even tot in a couple of our new raise box 2×4 planters on the back of the patio to grow a few flowers and vegetable . It is kind of crazy when you await at it to think it is all from 2×4 ’s !
But 2×4 ’s really do make amazingly solid , well-heeled , and surprisingly graceful article of furniture . But maybe best of all , furniture that live and survive .
