As most garden blogger do during the late winter , I am going to share some of my cum list with you . I was cue ( and inspired ) by my champion fellow garden blogger Dee Nash fromRed malicious gossip ramblingswho listed the seed she is order for her Oklahoma garden and greenhouse , and then when one of my designer friend asked me if I would share my list , I decide that it might be worth a short post .
I too like to see what other people are ordering , peculiarly if they are really into raising interesting plants , or good gardeners , for each yr the list is different . We might stress something that we have not grown for a 10 or so , or we might have our must - have favorites that just must be grow every class , and then , some of us wish to try on something challenging , and I usually attempt to grow something that I have never uprise before .
This list cover just common garden seed from the major seed sources , of course I have very uncommon or wild collected seeded player from flora society that include alpine , tree , shrub and bulb seed , but I will restrict this list to general garden seeded player . These are plant that I will be raise in the nursery , and in the garden this year .

FromChiltern Seeds(UK )
Acacia baileyana , A. dealbata and A. verticilata ( for greenhouse shrubs)Asarina antirrhiniflora ‘ coccinea ’ , a vine that I will elevate in a containerBasil – Hellenic bush – ‘ Finissimo verde palla’Coleus blumei ‘ Dark Chocolate – that dark dark-brown coleus we see at garden centersDianthus caryophyllus ‘ Chabaud Giant Superd ’ – the super honest-to-god fashioned garden carnationCobaea scandens var . alba – the white anatomy , which is strong to findClematis napaulensis – this attender clematis has been on my must - get leaning for some time now as a winter bloomer in the cold greenhouse . Ipomoea tricolour ‘ Heavenly Blue ’ – because , it ’s heavenly blue , naturally . Cuphea viscosissima – I want to judge this one more clock time after last twelvemonth ’s disaster!Calendula officinalis ‘ Touch of Red mix ’ – if you ’ve never raised this calendula , it has nearly beige and brownish buff flowers that are amazing . Quamoclit lobata ‘ Citronella ’ I love the coral and orange selection , but this one is yellow ! It ’s a expectant vine not unlike morning glories – Google it!Tagetes tenuifolia ‘ Starfire Mix ’ – this marigold is close to the wild shape , but this color selection is great .

love apple
These four are raw love apple bred to be alike to heirloom varieties , but with increase vigor , ripe producers and with greater disease ohmic resistance . I will warn you they they are rottenly expensive , but I believe that one gets what one pays for with good plant life breeding and skill – they are non - GMO if you worry about such thing , as they are tomatoes ( there are no GMO tomatoes by the way ) .
Tomato Marnero ( F1 ) – this new loan-blend is expensive ( $ 19.00 for 12 seeds ) , but it ’s a new F1 loan-blend that ’s all the rage with those ‘ in the know ’ about plant life . It appear incisively like a purple heirloom , but it prognosticate to be even more disease resistant and a far better manufacturer . Developed for greenhouse raiser , many tomato eccentric person are mature these outdoors .

Tomato Bigdena – same as above , expensive but for a ground – new , warm and promise to have a flavor described as ‘ an amazing discovery ’ and “ as if sea Strategic Arms Limitation Talks was sprinkled on them ” . Look – Johnny ’s Seeds seldom uses such hyperbole , so I candidly believe that these will be over-the-top plants .
tomato plant – Margold – Bred as a novel hybrid that promise to be an improved stripy German , but higher bring on and more disease tolerant . It ’s a gold yellowness – and yes , it is also $ 19.00 for a pack of 10 or12 seed . It just has to be good , as there is not other reason why the seed costs so much .
Tomato Marbonne – An improved Marglobe , the old European favorite for years . Bred for the greenhouse tomato trade , it might be worth trying in the garden as well – there is alot of yak about it on the tomato buff ride likethis one .

( I should remark here that most of these new premium tomato form are all back ordered until mid April or May , but that is OK with me , as I never inseminate my tomatoes until April 15 to May 15 anyway , learning over the year that little works set out into the garden in June perform much well than any started any earlier .
Tomato Clementine – yes , this Modern orange tomato expect just like a clementine tree tangerine , I ca n’t hold back to judge it .
Tomato – Celebrity . A classic , but I need some standbys . As you may see , I am growing few if any heirlooms this year . I may consecrate a few from Baker Creek , but I might just wait and just buy a few plants from the glasshouse .

In improver to these love apple , I also ordered :
Cucumber – Northern PicklingCucumber – Marketmore 76 – a classic . ( there are many ‘ Marketmore ’s developed by Cornell , every few geezerhood throughout he 80 ’s and the 90 ’s , but turn 76 is still often considered the good , and it come true to seed too if you are one of those seed - recoverer . Cilantro – Calypso – ( I ordered a 1/4 lb , because I sow in it every two weeks).Pepper – El Jeffe – It ’s a high producing JalapenoPepper – Joe E Parker – This Anaheim type will keep us well stocked with green chili!Carrot – El Jeffe : I love home grown carrot , and I have taken a few years off from growing any . I just neglect that tang in the crepuscle . I also care big carrot , and these are pelleted seeded player so that I can sow them severally in the soil out of doors . One must never graft carrot .
Zinnias are on my radiolocation again this year , especially the Modern Scabiosa case . I intend that I order all of them !

SO , fromThe Cooks GardenI have already receive :
Zinnia Scabiosaeflora MixHyacinth BeansPepper – Anaheim ( Ugh , see ? I am order doubles again ! – peradventure I should typewrite out a list for myself . Nasturtium Purple Emperor
FromStokesSeeds I have also already received :

Kochia – fire BushZinnia – Zinderella Lilac – it ’s been sold out everywhere , so I ’m beaming that I found some here .
Swallowtail Garden Seedshas already sent me :
Zinnia Aztec Burgundy bicolorZinnia Burpeana Giants MixZinnia Zinerella Lilac ( ugh – again ? See what I mean ? I am get old.)Zinnia MacareniaZinnia MazurkiaZinnia Peppermint Stick

And like the Lycopersicon esculentum , these zinnias will not be inseminate until mid June , when I will sow them alfresco where they will grow . As I prove to many last twelvemonth , Zinnias and Cosmos grow much well when direct sown in other to mid summer where they are to originate . One can have flowers in a months clock time , from industrial plant that will out - get any take up indoors before .
In addition to all of these one-year seeds , I have ordered some perennials too :
From Jelitto in Germany :

Delphinium elatum F1 Hybrid New Millennium ‘ Blue Lace ’ , which again , are costly – near 5 time the cost of regular honest-to-god varieties of Delphinium , but oh , the colors and the vigor … . these promise to be a big betterment on an already challenge to develop perennial for many .
Primula vulgaris ssp . sibthorpiiPrimula vulgaris ‘ wild form’Primula sieboldiiPrimula x pubescens Exhibition Series BluePrimula amoena ( elatior ssp meyeri)Primula juliaePrimula elatior tight-laced Laced Primroses
If you have never render perennials from come , it ’s not easy unless you have a glasshouse , but Jelitto offer some of the proficient seminal fluid , especially their pre - chill ( Gold - Nugget Seed ® ) germ , which makes raised plant like primroses and other hard - to - germinate seeded player much easier . By far the most stinting way to arouse many plants .
