Not us !
We do n’t watch flick except for very , very rarely , and do n’t own a screen . The kids also do n’t meet videogames . We read or pursue music , horticulture , blacksmithing , blackberry find fault , working out , painting and other hobbies alternatively . I do n’t need to be normal and am unimpressed with modern amusement and determine it less than worthless .
In the living room of the menage we rent there was a build - in entertainment center with some cabinets and bookshelves around a with child gap in the middle where a normal person would put hispropaganda transmittertelevision .
After waiting two years , I finally bought a tablesaw last week and made a bookshelf for my daughter , then decided to fill in that TV gap with something worthwhile – more shelf !
That intact pith was just a 49.5″ wide first step . Now it fits three tiers of record book ! As you’re able to see , the books on the ledge were already overflowing , and there were more homeschooling books crammed in the cabinets . I also had a full boxwood of mostly agriculture - relate books we did n’t have elbow room for before this operation . All of them now have a home .
The shelves are 12″ deep and almost 12″ in height , made from birch 3/4″ plywood . I shorten 1.5″ landing strip to package in the plywood with so it oppose the rest of the entertainment gist . The entire mental process , include painting , took about four hours .
Tomorrow I hope to work up another 4″ x 6″ bookshelf for the dining way , then we should have more than enough room for all our books . For now . We seem to get more every hebdomad .
Back in our old North Florida houseI build a bunch of bookshelves from cinderblocks and dimensional lumber .
Now I ’m nonplus fancy , with existent plywood and routered slot for the shelving . It ’s more efficient on space , but more expensive – peculiarly with the monetary value of lumber right now . It also take on longer to make the shelves , but hey – we ’re not watching TV so we ’ve got time .
I used to interpret on my smart sound but got rid of it early this class . forcible books are good from being censored or deleted and there ’s nothing like reading a real paper book by the lighter of an fossil oil lantern .
